1&1 vs. GoDaddy for purchasing domains and hosting.
1&1 and GoDaddy are two of the largest and most popular hosting companies / domain registrars in the US. I've used them both in the past and have talked to a lot of people trying to figure out which one to go with. Based on my experience I would say "either". 1&1 is a bit more aggressive on pricing and in general will either match GoDaddy or represent a slightly better deal. On the other hand GoDaddy's support crushes 1&1. My support requirements are generally low so I currently give the nod to modest savings. However, if I get involved with a project which requires closer interaction with my hosting company I will choose GoDaddy. You can't really go wrong. If you are setting up your first site or new to online business I would recommend going with the stronger support option even if you pay a couple of extra dollars. It will be worth it. If, on the other hand, you just want the best deal on reliable hosting you can get I would go straight to 1&1. CommunityBuildrs is hosted currently on 1&1's shared hosting system.
